Proxmark3 - Strange behaviour

Well,
I started using proxmark3 a month a go.
First i've been dealing with driver problems cause of windows 8 unsigned restrictions, easy pie: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/
After that, I've started using proxmark for cracking mifare classic card keys and in the process I realize that some features were acting in a strange way. For example, when I execute an "hw version" sometimes nothing was printed. When i tried to emulate some dumped card, the LG didn't respond. When I execute hf mf mifare it took a while to get some results or, nothing happend.
Well, in conclusion and in advice.
DO NOT USE PC WITH CHINESE USB'S -_-

Check your USBs quality before looking problems somewhere else.

Re: Proxmark3 - Strange behaviour

Did you mean, don't use "bad USB cables" or "bad USB sockets" (in the PC)?

Re: Proxmark3 - Strange behaviour

I also had some issues with bad USB sockets. But in win8, if you have your speakers ON, you can hear if the PM3 gets disconnected.
And once it is connected (which gives another sound), it just works. Unless some lights are ON on the proxmark.
I have never had any issues with any USB cables. Most of mine are from China.

The baud rate your USB port works at, might be the problem here.

Iceman, app_o1,
As you mentioned, the problem is the USB socket. I didin't specify that. Nothing weird with the cable at all wink

Re: Proxmark3 - Strange behaviour

Do you mean that by example if you have layer 1 and 3 running they stop working when you launch layer 4 even if you dont change anything to layer 1 and 3 ?
