PWD_AUTH timing between attempts

I saw a post in another forum that claimed the password protection on NTAG cards are crap, even though its 32-bit.  I challenged them ASSUMING that the access time between read/writes trying to authenticate was on the order of tens or hundreds of milliseconds, therefore making any brute force attack take years.  is there an exact optimal time between attempts to send and read memory sending the PWD_AUTH commands?
