am i doing this right? (salto)

hi i am trying to clone my mifare fob but it doesnt want to write to card. can some tell if im doing this right? and if not can you correct me. thanks

thanks for the reply, yes i do have the dump file. what i cannot do is write it to my blank card, it is an mf1 s50 card.
im not sure if writing it block by block would work but even when i try:

another thing i noticed is that in the
hf mf 14a reader command

it says that the original card is SAK : NXP MIFARE CLASSIC 1k | Plus 2k

but i was able to read and dump the card fine. so is my original card a mifare plus 2k? am i using the wrong blank card to write too?

Hi everyone, I am new to NFC and also trying to clone a Mifare classic 1k as the original poster - sakohunter. I would like to know if it is possible to write the UID bytes using other inexpensive readers (e.g. SCM SCL3711 or ACS122U) other than ProxMark3. I would also like to try emulation of Mifare 1k and 4k. Could you please advise me a proper reader/writer to get started with. If other readers are inadequate for cloning and emulation, I will go after ProxMark3. But since ProxMark3 is also the most expensive choice, I am trying to make a prepared decision. Many thanks.

It doesn't make sence, because normally with the card on the reader, the tension must go down annd not rise, because the card will use the energy to wake itself so its the opposite, and yeah its really weird that you get just 5V with the xfpga card. Btw I created my antenna and I get 15V without the mifare card on it and 10 ~ 11V with it.
Normaly without the card I think you need to have unless 7 or 8V so your pm3 can provide the energy to read the card.

well I would advice you the SCM SCL3711 as it is simple to install and use, but when you talk about simulation you'll need the pm3. Look there is a sheap pm3 without the case just look after that, because you will find a lot of responses here for your future questions wink

@C0Y0-Ck3r: many thanks for your prompt reply. I ordered a SCM SCL3711 after your reply. I saw the case-free PM3 ($188). I would definitely like to get one soon. I am playing with libnfc [http://code.google.com/p/libnfc/] code at the moment.

  * Wondering if libnfc like support is available for PN544 chip (found in Nexus S phones). My attempt would be to push PN544's boundaries and evaluate it's card emulation potential, particularly for Mifare classic 1k and 4k cards.

  * libnfc svn trunk has serious compilation issues on Windows with MinGW (on Ubuntu/Linux it compiles like a charm). I have already fixed some bugs today and stuck on a few more. If you have tried it, would please share your experience compiling latest libnfc on Windows.

the problem was solved.
the problem wasnt my antenna, it was the proxmark3.

i bought my original bare uncased proxmark3 with the antennas from xfpga.
but i have been using a cased one that someone bought me for christmas, not knowing that i had already purchased one.

so the cased one was the one that was giving the low voltage.
as soon as i switched over to the uncased one i bought from xfpga it wrote to the card on first attempt. i was surprised! as one costed more than the other.

anyone know how I can fix my defective proxmark3, like what resistor is responsible for the low hf voltage, without having to get an ohms meter and testing out the whole board? otherwise I would really be lost as I wouldn't know what or how to test.
