Issues with obtaining all keys

Hello!

I've been searching around the forums and internet to try and help me solve me issues, but with no success. Would really appreciate any help anyone could throw this way.

I purchased a proxmark3 and wish to clone a 1k mifare card. I have all the keys for this card, except for key a for sector 1. I ran 'hf mf nested 1 0 a ffffffffffff d' and got the below result. As you can see, it's missing a key. This happens however many times I try.

I've tried running 'hf mf mifare', though it states it'll take up to 30 mins but I've left it for hours and it never completes!

I figured the best thing to do would be to update the firmware. This is the result when I run 'hw ver':

This suggests to me the bootrom is updated but os isn't? On Device Manager (I am using Windows 7 x64) it's still showing as a libusb device rather than a COM port. I've tried following the instructions in UpdateBootloader.pdf (hold button while plugging in, update driver) - it shows as a COM port when the button is held, but reverts to a libusb device when it's not. I've tried uninstalling and then installing the new drivers but it doesn't let me and only lets me install the libusb drivers.

Whenever I try to run the flasher.exe (tried multiple revs), it gets stuck on 'Waiting for proxmark to reappear on USB...' - holding the button and plugging in doesn't work either.

I hope I've explained my issue and hope anyone can provide any assistance in helping - would be much appreciated!

Re: Issues with obtaining all keys

You seem to be running of a very old version of the software.  Either download and install the latest GitHub source or  download the pre-compiled version from Apser ( 0.0.7 ?)

Doesn't that require the proxmark to be on a COM port? I tried using a newer version of the software that used the old usb but whenever I ran a command (i.e. hf 14a reader) it wouldn't return anything.

Re: Issues with obtaining all keys

You need to flash bootrom, fpga and os images,  before running the latest client.   Search the forum for guides.

Re: Issues with obtaining all keys

Try to run the nested attack command with 000000000000 instead of F's

Only one of the keys is 00000000000, the rest are ffffffffffff, nested attack with both keys still doesn’t show the one key that’s missing!

Any more ideas?  smile

Re: Issues with obtaining all keys

In the above table you have all 16 sector keys, what key are you looking for?

Re: Issues with obtaining all keys

No,  the sc1 A has  "res = 0",  which means the nested failed.

So the only remaining way is to snoop a transaction with the real reader.

Re: Issues with obtaining all keys

Or he can try the nested some more times.  Thats what I usually do.  Sometimes it finds all,  sometimes it finds a few. All in all, you might need to gather a complete list from the different outputs.
