thx alot ice. i got the same issue like i have with my "old" pm3. flashing procedure is nice until it ends at block 457.
i thought somthings rong with my old pm3 but same mess with rdv4.
that must be some kali issue.
in the past all was ok but after a "apt-get dist-upgrade" it starts messing around it seems.
now i stuck with rdv4. 4x blue and 2x red. thats it.
guess i need to try flashing with my windows machine as i dont have anything else. but thats PITA

Don't know about kali, but there is some linux guides on Pm3 wiki. I have never a problem with ubuntu to flash.
With iceman fork there is the possibility to set udev rules via "make udev" if you forgot to do it on your Kali distro.
or search the forum for other kali ppl

did you sort it out on Kali?

I and a few others are having problems flashing on Kali, seems to stop mid update.. No such issue on ubuntu. Haven't had time to look at the root cause.

Same with the latest ParrotOS. (based on Debian 9 - Stretch)

On Kali / Archlinux, you will need to kill / uninstall the modem manager. All wiki / readme texts is updated to cover this.
Regarding ParrotOS, I actually downloaded and tried it, just in case, do uninstall modem manager aswell.
