Can't read FDX-b pet tag or immobilizer chips with RDV4

I can't read a FDX-B tag or a TI-crypto immobilizer chip with the stock RDV4 antennas. I have used the hw tune and verified these tags are 134KHz by the voltage drop, and have the unit set to 134.

Do I need this antenna? https://dangerousthings.com/product/proxlf/

I get the result "no tag found" or another error stating it's just picking up noise.  I know the immobilizer tags use crypto, but should still be detected, and the pet tag definitely should be, as I have a pet tag reader that reads it, and if I emulate an fdx-b with the RDV4, the pet tag reader reads it properly.

Are there settings that will make these easier to pick up?

Does your antenna have switches for 125/134 freq?  low /hi Q (14/7)    try setting in 134/7

data setd 1
lf fdx read

Still no go, here's what it returns:

[#] LF signal properties:
[#] high..........132
[#] low...........125
[#] mean..........128
[#] amplitude.....4
[#] is Noise......Yes
[#] THRESHOLD noise amplitude......8
[#] DEBUG: (setClockGrid) clear settings
[#] DEBUG: no data or error found -2, clock: 32
[#] DEBUG: Error - FDX-B ASKbiphaseDemod failed

I have tried with the tag in various positions/angles, and still no go

Ok, with the switches set in the default, and the cover off, I can get the FDX to read if it's in a "sweet spot". a few mm either direction, and it's no good.

It also reads em410X glass capsules if they are put right on the Lf antenna without the cover.

Can it not identify immobilizer chips as used in car keys? I know most use crypto, so I wouldn't expect it to decode it
